About twenty years ago I collected tried-and-true recipes from home ec. teachers throughout the province and published them in the Teachers of Home Economics Specialist Association [THESA] newsletter. A former student recently wrote to me asking for gingerbread recipes and I found one that I consider the “best” in the 20-year old recipe collection. This made me think that more people might enjoy seeing these recipes. While home economics is a lot more than “recipes”, it doesn’t hurt to have a few recipes around that are “tried-and-true”. And, don’t take the picture to the left seriously. If you’re wondering, home ec. students no longer wear dust caps.
